The 10th edition of Asian Film Awards (AFA), one of the Asia’s leading film awards that recognizes the excellence of the film professionals in the film industries of Asian cinema was held in the Venetian Casino and Hotel in Macau, China.The prestigious awards ceremony was graced by a spectacular gathering of celebrities and industry professionals from different cities of Asia.

"The Assassin," a 2015 martial arts film directed by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-Hsien,bagged eight awards including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actress award. 

By winning eight awards, the film made a new record as the most awarded film in the Asian Film Awards history. The title was previously held by Won Kar-wai's "The Grandmaster," which bagged seven awards in 2014.

The film stars Taiwanese actress Shu Qi, who played the role of a female assassin tasked to kill her home province's governor, who also happens to be her lover.

♦ Best Cinematography: Mark Lee Ping-bing (The Assassin). 
♦ Best Production Design: Hwarng Wern-ying (The Assassin). 
♦ Best Original Music: Lim Giong (The Assassin). 
♦ Best Editing:
Chu Ka-yat, William Chang Suk-ping, Liao Ching-sung, Wong Hoi, Philip Yung (Port of Call). 
♦ Best Visual Effects: Prasad Sutar (Bajirao Mastani). 
♦ Best Costume Design:
Lee Ji-yeon and Shim Hyun-seob (The Throne). 
♦ Best Sound:
Tu Duu-chih, Chu Shih-yi and Wu Shu-yao (The Assassin). 
♦ Lifetime Achievement Award: Yuen Wo-ping and Kirin Kiki

The award inagurated in 2007 was held in Hong Kong for seven year but the 8th awarding ceremony moved to one of Asia’s fastest growing entertainment hubs, Macau.
